#ALVR wired connection

so I have alvr set up on both headset and desktop, it runs and seems to be fully working but I'm a little confused on the link cable process (specifically ABDForwarder)

do I just download, run the .exe, let it do its thing and then done? or is there another step?\

I've tried playing H3VR and the game boots in vr mode, tracks my headset movement, etc but my headset view is just completely black with no view of my hands or anything through ALVR

it says connected and my device's serial number on the adb exe but the line below it says "skipped forwarding device"

ok so

i boot alvr dashboard, boot steamvr, it connects both through the headset and through the desktop

and then i get a brief snapshot of the steamvr home

very laggy and very low resolution

and then my headset screen goes black

#

and the only way to see anything else is to take it off, let the display shut off and put it back on

#

and i get another half second or so glimpse before it goes black

do i have to start steamvr on the headset manually too or something?

if i click display vr view, it shows up just fine over steamvr but the headset stays black

#

think i might be getting somewhere but idrk
