I'm using the flatpak version of the alvr steamer because that it's the only one I've manage to get working with steamvr. I'm on Nobara 38 (based on Fedora 38) on a desktop. and It's come up with the issue. the headset I'm using is the Quest 2 on v60. the gpu I use is the Radeon RX 6750 XT. I've mange to get it connect twice but only for a brief period and then couldn't get it working again. I've tried install Voice Meeter on bottles which didn't work. is there any chance of being able to use a Linux alternative or is there a fix that I can do?

Btw I'm on X.org but when I manged to get it connect I was on Wayland in case that's important
your using the wrong audio setting the linux based ones are like at the very bottom
also you need to have a script to set it up
I think that on Linux only pipewire is supported if you want to have both speaker and microphone working at the same time.
In ALVR setup wizard there is an option to download and apply audio script that handles it.
So I ran the script (also sorry I didn't see the other installations I had to do) and it connected but then I had to restart it and it's doing the samething
I'm going to try and change it to pipewire audio and see if that does anything
So I made sure to run the set-up wizard and imstall pipewire audio before but I got back this error
192.168... is local IP, everyone have it*, no worries ;D
* unless configured differently, for example with 10.*...
don't run the script, that button in ALVR setup should configure it so it runs automatically on connecct/disconnect
Oh ok thank you, I thought it was but I didn't want to risk it lmao
Ah ok thank you
I kept getting that on SteamVR beta, with regular version after resetting all settings of ALVR and enabling that script in ALVR setup wizard, and restarting the client app on headset it was starting to work.
So I've tried it and it doesn't work
it's still 'Preset not applied' after ALVR server restart?
I don't think so since it was there before, I think I might of messed something up by trying to fix it
I'll give it a try when I can get on my pc again
No unfortunately
uhm, that's good. from my experience after restart it should be set to pipewire
also check how pipewire is doing with pw-top
Nvm I miss read sorry yeah it's still not there
Ok thank you
So I've just checked and it's installed
Also I reinstalled everything last night to see if that did anything and for some reason it just works now, I have no audio and it freezes now
I'm going to restart my pc to see if that does anything
Also also the pw-top did show alvr outputting something but pipewire still isn't showing up
So I manged to getting it working by turning game audio and game microphone off and then just using headphones
Thank you for all your help!!!
On behalf of others you're welcome(maybe I did something I forgot)
