I know this is an incredibly common question, but I cannot for the life of me find a solution to my problem. I have vb-audio cable installed, I have the microphone set to VB Cable, but I cannot for the life of me get my mic to work in VRChat (and presumably other games, this is just the only one I play that needs it)

Try setting windows and alvr back to default, set vb audio mic only in vr chat

I tried that, still nothing

i admittedly already had vb installed before ever installing alvr, is it worth comepletely uninstalling vb cable incase something has somehow screwed with it?

I dont actually have any other vr games that use my microphone to test it unfortunately

at least not on pc

im using a quest 2 and games on the quest itself have no issues with the mic

Just to double check did you tick the option in alvr to stream the mic

that option doesnt appear to exist as far as I can see

I'm on the nightlies so it may look different, but its near the bottom under audio

anyway i fixed the issue

a full reinstall of vb audio cable fixed it, thanks for the help
