can i be lazy and just connect a wire from the dead pin (the one circled in yellow) straight the the slare pin section? Is that ok? Or do i have to reroute kt from the pcb so that it doesnt go theough the dead pins hole? I assume it would be ok because that spot is dead but i wanted to double check just in case

I had a similar issue and had to route it NOT through the bad pin.
If there's a leak from that pin to ground, routing through it maintains the leak so you have to avoid it. If you remove the thing connecting the pin on the controller to the socket, you can probably solder a wire from the bottom of the socket to the new pin.
