in zmk the peripheral side of splits is not an independent device. it only ever communicates with the central side, even when connected via usb (in this scenario, it is only drawing power from usb).

maybe try using a different keyboard name? your config departs from a number of zmk conventions, which makes it difficult to follow. it's also unclear what your ultimate objective is here. is this how you want your board to work in general, or is this just an intermediate step you're trying for some other reason?

Ok yeah I was just trying to run a single the right half as the main side to see if I could run it as it's own board.

Yeah I was following some of what I saw from the Glove80 board

I will try that having just two different board names and see if I can get it independently running

Also up for making the config more standard

One error I do see is the following

UUID  does not match split UUID: 

Not sure if that is any indicator

Yeah that is what I am starting to think... It's a sad day for sure 😦

The weird part is I am able to flash a bootloader and get the usb volume to display
