#Migrating from HAOS on a NUC to Unraid server

As the title suggests I'm planning on moving from my simple install on a nuc just running home assistant to a SFF mini pc that will be ruining unraid.

The main driver for this was having a few random crashes where I cant remote into HA and had to reboot the system manually so thinking running in unraid means I can restart home assistant without going into the cabinet and cycling power if that ever happens, but also like the idea of being able to have a nas and run some other apps on there too.

How easy would it be to migrate across without breaking everything?

Most of my devices are zigbee and are connected via a Sonoff Zigbee USB dongle and ZHA. I have quite a bit of aqara stuff, some sonoff, philips hue, innr, few candeo dimmers, and some no brand chinese stuff too

NUC is pretty old (4th gen i3 processor) will be moving to a somewhat newer (but still old system) in a used office PC, 9th gen i5 9500

I guess the main question is would it be as simple as installing HAOS in a VM on the server and restore from a current backup (I'm using Google drive backup atm) what are the odds of that just working?

Assume if it is that simple there would need to be downtime some downtime during the switchover as I'm probably not going to want both devices online at the same time would that mess up the IP addresses if both think they are the same device? Or do I need to do some manual stuff with IPs, currently running DuckDNS for remote access

I've not actually got the Unraid system set up yet, got the PC I'm building it in but waiting on storage and memory coming to upgrade it before I start on setup so just trying to get my headround the switchover before I need to start it and get an idea for any pitfalls

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8vOxg-SI74&ab_channel=EverythingSmartHome this is what I have been looking at but it's quite an old video so not sure how relevant it still would be, as its both HAOS would the snapshot thing be best (even though new version will be in VM) and ignore my google drive backups

Looking to upgrade your Home Assistant Hardware but worried or unsure how to save all your existing configuration so you don't have to start again from scratch? Or perhaps disaster struck and you need to know how to restore your Home Assistant from a backup? In this video we look at both options for how to migrate any Home Assistant install to A...
