An answer to @lucid bolt's question, for me observance has been the most influential thing i have ever came across. Just observe. Why you doing this? What is it gonna lead you to? Are you working just for the result or you actually are enjoying the process. So, to me observance is the newness, this new year.

I also found the part of the book talking about the extra exercise that was punishment actually becoming a benefit to those that were going through it how adversity sharpened them another example of mindset?
