I'm using a Bambu labs A1 on the standard 0.4 nozzle. The filament is Sunlu petg. As you can see there are cracks on the print. I don't know why.

You sure there are cracks? Those looks like the filament wasnt dryed out and you got bubbles (which is common for petg...it really needs to be ideally dried/run through a dehydrator)

Yeah I don't have a dryer

#

I'm new to working with petg. I guess i need one

For petg, yea that would be good idea normally, especially depending on the humidy of the area you are in + how you store the filament

Luckily it didn't get humid to the point of being sticky but I guess it can still be dryer

Petg is very hydroscopic..so if you are storing it openly it humid temps..then yea thats going to happen.

yeah I don't think it's bad to store it like this but drying it would help before use

#

but this was the first print right after opening it so idk

Using petg right on open is kinda a crapshoot, at least in my experience...not all brands dry and seal right away..or even dry it to my knowledge.

I mean i guess either way I'd have to dry it eventually

#

do you have to dry TPU and PLA too?

Not sure about TPU, Im still experimenting with it.

PLA -shouldnt- need drying unless you live in a crazy humid env and have left it sitting out to soak for years. But ymmv
