It's strong. No bending or separating
Alright so what I would do is sand these area with 80 grit, then use a soldering iron or a wood burner to melt it shut, I would then sand it again with 80 and fill that with bondo, then refine the grits from 80 - 180 - 220 then primer - 600 grit - paint - clear

Make sure your belts are properly tensioned
I probably need to do some calibration anyway. Change the tip too
