Hey y’all! I printed this mask and I was wondering if you guys knew how to get this kind of metallic finish I was thinking about using a variety of silver acrylic paints like in this video: https://youtu.be/TiyDzoFtFJk?si=l3Qk7Rkd9E51gCoX but I feel like the texture isn’t as “porous” as the one in the image. I already sanded down my print with 80 grit sandpaper and up to 600 grit.

What's the trick for making plastic props look like real metal using acrylic paint? Layers! This techniques uses a weathered steel paint effect to unify the look of a variety of materials used to create the Lord of the Rings inspired Nazgul armor.

This is how I got the print looking right now

I was also thinking about putting a base coat of flex seal for the texture then doing the same process as in the video

Getting a real metal looking finish from paint usually requires airbrushing. Acrylics can be effective and a lot cheaper or you can look at rub n buff or similar.
I would prime it as normal and then add a stone effect paint for the texture, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rust-Oleum-400ml-Stone-Spray-Paint/dp/B001W03PUE/ref=asc_df_B001W03PUE/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=696352102725&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15122635283947891928&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006992&hvtargid=pla-420503491186&mcid=27b61a4a11c136e28015aa3a310ce976&th=1&gad_source=1
Something like this, and then add a gloss black over that to add more pop to your final metal coat which ever final coat method you chose.

Idk.. i'm not really looking for a shiny look

TBH it’s probably easier to go shiny and dull it down than searching for the perfect paint.
But you can just use whatever you feel like, I and just suggesting something that would work, don’t have to go with my suggestion 😀

i cant quite tell what the texture of the original picture is supposed to be, but maybe look into hammered metal spray paint?

I didn't even know that hammered metal spray paint was a thing but it looks like it would do the job!

if you use something like graphite powder and then clear-coat, it will take away the shiny-ness
