Hello everyone, recently I purchased a gauntlet file I'm doing for an upcoming cosplay. While the arm itself is fine, same can't be said for the finger plates.
Now I went and reviewed the model and found something very concerning: the finger plates are just too long. example: the index finger's insert is roughly 145mm long (which doesnt include the pointer extension.) (my index finger itself is only 75mm long. The next issue is even when I size it down, 2 issues occur.
-It looks smaller than the original and detail is lost.
- the bottom parts of the plate are conflicting with each other, which means creating a fist is impossible
now it's not suppose to make a full formed fist but rather u wrap the fingers around a "handle" within the gauntlet itself. The creator of the file has recommended to do whats known as a "glove method" where u dont use the knuckle plates but rather the 3 plates only to "create more space for movement. However the issue is that the original gauntlets are black fingers and gold knuckles. In addition, I have watched Frankly's video on his iron man gloves to get an idea of how it should be done (I've probably gone through 50 plates already
).
I would like to know what would be the best way to approach this. if the bottom part has to be remodelled so be it.
