#p1s bambu ams keeps messing up

I recently got a p1s and everytime i do multi color. when it is going to change filaments it usually has a problem like with the spool somewhere in the ams. Sometimes it doesnt properly place the filament back in the roll when and it causes issues or i just need to press retry for it to fix itself. or it gets clogged at the ams level where it wont push it down.
It worked great when i used the bambuu filament but not when im using IIIDMAX filament.

Anyone have had an issue like this?

ive had it fail to respool a few times, but nothing like that. is the ams itself failing? (orange/red light on the feeder)

No light, just throws error in app and you can press retry

Hmm was able to catch it doing this

Yeah mine does that sometimes too, and sometimes not with the same spool, so it’s hard to tell what the problem is

#

I could design a guide to keep the loop from falling behind something, but maybe someone’s already done it

Kinds sad since i was really excited for the color stuff but it keeps messing up. Do you think i should just use a different brand of filament for color ones? Would that fix it. And yea might look for something to keep it in the spool

Different spool may help. Personally I’ve never really had it screw up in the middle of a print tho so idk that I know the exact problem here

hydra does ruin your waranty though

@weak frost what brand of filament do u use? And not sure what the hydra is would need to look into it

I use some bambu spools, mattherhackers, and voxelpla

#

But they all seem to have that issues of unspooling on the retract, but more often than not it gets straightened back out

Interesting, I’m at work rn so I won’t hop in, but you’d think someone would have a solution if its this widespread
