Hey everyone, so I'm working on a Moff Gideon helmet that im planning to have signed by Giancarlo at my local con in a few months, im still on the planning stage and deciding how i want to top coat the helm.

I've painted multiple model kits in the past (mainly gundams) so i have experience using an airbrush w/ acrylic/lacquer based top coats.

I'm leaning more towards the airbrush because i can control the flow, but not sure if its viable for finishing a full size helm. would a spray gun be better?

My question is can i get away with airbrushing X-23 (or similar clear coats like mr.hobby), or is the 2k spray can the way to go?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would go with what you know, airbrushing, it will get you the result you want in the timeframe you have, and you have the experience to correct any issues with it. Trying something new on this might give you more issues and difficulties, airbrushing will get you the same if not better finish.
You can get some 2k for airbrushing but it’s normally a two part self mix.
