it depends on the fillament, if you buy fillament it usualy has a sticker with the melting temp (hot end temp) an the bed temp and/or chamber temp usualy the ideal extruding temp is a window, like 195-205 hotend and 60 bed degrees for the PLA i use. i found that it works ok at 210 and 70, but that might be an inconsistency in my temp sensors

ABS has different temp settings, the values in the printer profiles are usualy quite good.

ya i am going to just stick with pla for the most part and thought that 200 seemed high because thats what it has been going to

#

also is it normal when the bed and nozzel are heating up before the print, filament starts coming out and curling a little on the nozzel

@hallow vapor the standard recommended bed temperature for pla is usually 60. Some peoole sometimes lower it slightly, some people sometimes raise it for pla.

As for printing temp, print a temp tower, that is your best option. It will help you figure out the best printing temp for the specific brand and type of filament you are using.
It is good practice every time you use a new brand of filament for the first time print a temp tower. Even if the material type is the same but the brand is different the best printing temp can be slightly different amingst brands. You also wanna do this if you change material types. Also make sure you mark down the temp you come up with so you don't forget it
