Sounds like a clog.
That’s typically either a clog, wrong temps or if it only happens on the bottom layer, your nozzle being too close. Can also happen when there’s too much tension on your filament roll.
it also happens if you set the layerheight to.1 or .0.5 or so with 4.0 nozzle, because the extruder just cannot push the melted fillament out fast enough, result:clicking, variable layer thickness, stringing etc. remember the plastic comes out in a round string of 0.4 mm but at 0.4 mm it wont fuse, you have to sqeeze it to press onto the previous layer but if you set the layerheight to low ir will eventualy cloggand other nasty things
i had the same when i accidently set layer height to 0.05, al sorts of nasy happened resulting eventualy in clogged nozzle, that had to be replaced, which is a lot of work, not just the nozzle, but indeed, you have to disassemble the printhead, so you can switch out or clean the PTFE tube as well.
and my best print result with 4.0 nozzle i got with 0.2 layer heighti could hardly see the lines only on top of the top dome
