So i'm planning to make another sword and the STL file i have of the sword don't have any holes for rod so i'm planning to add my own. Now i'm stuck with a problem. The sword has an awkward shape to it, because of that i cant just directly use a straight rod to it so any suggestions on what to do ?

the way i see it, you got 2 options:

1:
you make a channel for a straight metal rod but it wont go all the way through (will still offer great support to the connection of hilt and blade tho)

2:
you make a channel for something curved that goes all the way through.
as for the material, you could cut it out from wood, maybe cut it out from metal, maybe carbon rod, ...
