So I'm having a issue understanding the -z axis compensation ender 5 plus currently mine is on -2.91 on my prints. The extruded is too far from the bed but when I go to lvl it, it's just fine. What do I do?

print a bed level test, adjust the z-offset as it is printing until it sticks

Ok does the z-offset need to go up or down that's what I've been having a issue figuring out

#

Does it need to go more negative to go closer or more towards 0 to be closer

I'm still trying to figure that out

z-offset down = nozzle closer to the bed (decrease the gap)
z-offset up = nozzle moving further from the bed (increase the gap)

more negative more closer

Ah ok

That is what was confusing me

Offset doesn’t matter at all. Only what your bed level print shows

When you probe the bed with the ABL, that’s telling your printer how far your bed is from your probe. Z axis compensation is how far the tip of your nozzle is from your probe (not the actual height, just based off a factory #)
