Hi All, Have reached that point of this hobby where I want to fit motors to open and close my IM helmets. Crashworks appears to be to way to go. I am an absolute beginner with electronics and confused about what I need to buy off of their ebay shop. I would like to open and close the face mask and switch LED lights on. Simple as that. It is a Mk3 helmet. What would you suggest I need and does it come preloaded with the code and all I have to do is add the motors and hinges and plug stuff in? Any help appreciated. Josh

Hey @twin shell, thank you for contributing to this forum.

All the Crashworks boards come with the code pre-loaded.
A.L.I.S.H.A. Board Info
All of the A.L.I.S.H.A boards will work for Iron Man Helmets (ALISHA MK-XI, MK-XD, MK-XJ, AM3, or AM6), it comes down to what features you want and how much space you have in the helmet for mounting the board. If you are mounting the board outside of the helmet then space is not an issue. See the descriptions below:
Crash Works 3D Board Information:
*** All A.L.I.S.H.A boards require 5v (2.1A) minimum USB power bank to power the boards, a 5V (3A) power bank is a better option if available, the boards DO NOT run on “AA” batteries or any other type of power source. They also require a “momentary” (Normally Open) “NO” type switch for control. We provide wires and connectors to make it easier to wire to your provided components (Servos, LEDs, Switch, Power, etc..) ***
A.L.I.S.H.A. MKXI- One of Our Smallest Boards, it measures 48mm x 50mm , and comes programmed for helmet controls (Servos, LED Eyes, Input Switch). This board does not have the built in sound option, but does have expansion ports for future add-ons & upgrades, like sound.
A.L.I.S.H.A. MKXD - This board measures approximately 57mm x 57mm, and comes programmed for helmet controls (Servos, LED Eyes, Input Switch). This board includes the built in sound option, and you add sound effects with micro-SD card you provide, and has expansion ports for future add-ons & upgrades.
A.L.I.S.H.A. MXXJ- This board measures approximately 57mm x 57mm, and comes programmed for helmet controls (Servos, LED Eyes, Input Switch). This board includes the built in sound option (with some preloaded sound effects, you can pick either JARVIS or FRIDAY sound), and has expansion ports for future add-ons & upgrades.
The A.L.I.S.H.A. Mini boards (AM3 & AM6) are smaller than the MKXI & MKXD boards. They provide similar functionality, but do not have the same expansions capabilities as the MKXI, MKXD and MKXJ.
The A.L.I.S.H.A. AM3 - is our smallest board with sound functionality integrated. It comes programmed for helmet controls (Servos, LED Eyes, Input Switch) and sound effects using a micro-SD card you provide, and does not have any additional expansion capabilities. This board is a stripped down variant of a standard type A.L.I.S.H.A. board, and is intended for just helmet motorization.
The A.L.I.S.H.A. AM6 - is our smallest board, and comes programmed for helmet controls (Servos, LED Eyes, Input Switch). This board does not have the built in sound option, and does not have any additional expansion capabilities. This board is a stripped down variant of a standard type A.L.I.S.H.A. board, and is intended for just helmet motorization.
S.U.E. - Sound Unit Expansion - This board is a separate add-on module for the MKXI and AM6, which adds the sound functionality. It measures 42mm x 34mm.
P.E.N.E.L.O.P.E. - USB power bank keep-alive/awake board. This Board is used to prevent USB power banks from going into "sleep / shut off" mode. Some USB power bank will turn-off after a period of time, when they don't detect enough of a current draw being used, this could cause your project to lose power. This board "fools" the USB power bank into staying on and not powering down. It measures 35mm x 28mm, and works with most USB power banks.
Thank you. Appreciated.
