I want to try using duralumen as a base for candy colors and chip damage. I remember Rogue's Gallery's story where he made a two-toned candy iron man helmet and, if I remember correctly, recommended using an intercoat to seal the alumaluster and prevent it from lifting off the 2k clear gloss black base after taping off different sections. I want to make sure that I remembered this correctly, and I'll be able to re-clear the duralumen and restore the shine for chipping effects and different color candy paints. Obviously the shine wouldn't be the same as leaving it, but the point is will it remain as shiny as it would have been otherwise, or will the intercoat make it worse?
