✅ - tape adhesion

i used light white tape that frank recommends in one of his video i left it on for under 24 hours and it left this adhesion behind is there a way to get this off with a chemical or water without damaging the shield i hope the pictures capture it enough

I’d try with a wet paper towel first.

Water and a little dish soap will help.

You shouldn’t leave the tape on for more than 15 mins after spraying.

It’s not a written rule, just makes it much easier to remove when the paint is still wet ish and you get nice clean lines. Had a lot of practice making these

umm that didn’t work, what next should i try?

also quick question sense you have made so many my file has the in groves how would you suggest i preserve these lines

Try an old toothbrush and scrub it gently, it may not work, you may have to repaint it.

You need a line scriber or a rounded needle file to clear the grooves out, even craft knife will work but you need to be careful.

okay if brush doesn’t work i’ll try a few other things

and i’m saying like okay i want the sheiks from endgame so in the i groves it stays chrome

What paints are you using?

My process is sand and prime and repeat until smooth. Paint a gloss black base, let it cure and then paint it all chrome, again let it cure. Then add red and blue tints so the chrome still shows though giving more metallic look.

i’m currently sand fill /prime then fill it needed until smooth then i hit it with rostolium chrome then after that i’m using the red and blue of the same brand of spray paint i posted a pic of in here

Sounds good process, just remove the tape after 10-15 minutes when painting, I usually make a ridge or tab on the tape in the middle so I can easily peel it off.

Those lines will be fine, you can use a toothpick to clean them out if they get too bunked up with paint.
