I've got some pieces that I'm trying to get aligned in Blender
First one is easy, the larger pieces in the back have become slightly misaligned due to scaling, but I don't know if there's a way (Or what the proper terminology would be) to attach the face/line/vertex of one piece to the other
Second one is I need to move the cylinder-shaped piece to where the vertical divider is lined up with the seam between the 2 parts (From there I'm going to split the cylinder into its 2 parts, then merge them with the bigger pieces so they are lined up)

Before the thread devolves into asking why, the cylinder contains the geometry for an insert and a counterbore. I'm bolting the front half of this shell to the back half due to the weight that will be hanging off of it

generally for aligning things (in edit mode) there is a snapping tool, its the magnet on the top middle

#

if that is on, and for example set to "vertex". The selected things will snap to your cursor if you hover over any verticies

#

.
another method to align things is via the cursor (the red and white circle):
with shift + S you can relocate this cursor and also move other things to that cursor

#

example:

#

this one also works in object mode, in wich case the origin of the model (orange point will be moved to the cursor

#

the other way around works too, "cursor to selected" will set your cursor to the models point of origin

#

in edit mode, it will snap to the middle of your selection

#

the cursor snapping would solve your problem with the cylinder

Oh I think that is working well, can’t spend a lot of time with it at the moment but I was able move the origin of the cylinder to the split line in it, then snap that origin over to the side of the part

#

Thank you very much, I’ll make sure I can do that without much issue in a little bit
