I’m using Rustoleum metallic gold as my base coat. Then Duplicolor metallic red. The red has a tendency to run if I get impatient and put on too much too fast (my fault).

What’s the best way to sand off the drips so I can reapply more evenly? I don’t want to take off too much, just enough. Wet sand? What grit?

I would carefully scrape off any bigger drips with a craft knife, be careful, the wet sand the rest, start off higher and work down to lower, meaning that you will only take off a little at a time rather than taking off too much. Stop on a grit where you think it will smooth enough to re paint,I would start with 400 or 320.
Put some dish soap/ washing up liquid in the water and spray it on before sanding it will help.
Definitely can be saved.
