Quick help (bool tool blender)

Hey all,
Just a quick one, when i try to make the smaller object make a hole (difference) in the bigger object it wont cut, it'll just make a new face. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Might have something to do with boolean modifiers

You want to use the lower part to cut into the higher part to make a hole correct?
