Hey @sweet cradle, thank you for contributing to this forum.
Please provide as much information (images, video, description) as you can. This will increase the chance that someone can help you with your issue.

You should be good to just power off, unplug and power on. I did that when I had my Ender 5 plus and it went on printing without complaining about the sensor being unplugged.
I know that's not in the CR-10 family, but worth trying that first to see if you have any issues.
I had an issue with it on the Sovol SV01 and I just stuck a strand of filament in it, made sure it registered and taped it's off so it couldn't move. Haven't had an issue since
I have it taped down, and it's lit up like it's detecting filament
Pretty sure it's a wiring issue, but the sensor itself isn't useful enough to me to warrant going through the hassle of fixing it.
I fought with mine for over 2 weeks and finally just took my filament and moved it all around and it was tripping a bunch I think the style of sensor it is, is very faulty. If it's new I would get in touch with the manufacturer and request a replacement
I just want to disable the sensor. I weigh my spools before printing, so I don't really need it at all.
did you try just unplugging it?
Yeah, it just kept going into change filament mode when I tried starting a print
Should be able to turn it off in the firmware
How would I do that tho?
When going through the process of flashing the firmware, you can go into the configuration.h file and undefine the filament runout sensor
Here's Frank's vid on messing with that stuff https://youtu.be/RpGl49E2fqo
In this video I'll be showing you all how to flash or upgrade the Firmware on yourt 3D printer! This can be applied to a variety of printers and systems!

And here's a thingiverse thread where it seems like they were having a similar issue https://www.thingiverse.com/groups/creality-cr-10/forums/general/topic:43462
Greetings.
I have a CR10S approximately 1 year old. It has a filament runout sensor. I have never had a filament run out in use, and assumed it worked. A few months ago, I installed a BLTouch and uploaded firmware.
I found out this week that the printer ignores the state of the filament sensor in use. I know it works, since it lights blue wit...
