Rough 2 part high build primer

I have just started using 2 part high build primer.

I followed the mixture ratio and the instructions for spraying it on my piece.

It came out as a rough finish (ill add a picture). I wasn't expecting it to come out dead smooth but I didn't expect it to be as rough as it is. (Btw right side if the part has been wet sanded smooth)

Am I doing something wrong? If so any advice would be soo helpful.

Did you wet sand before adding the primer?
The rough part looks like you sprayed on too much in that spot, can you knock it down with sanding?

Yeah wet sand before primer! It suggested 400 so did that! Can sand it out but unfortunately the whole piece came up like this!

Interesting, I wouldn’t have gone to 400 grit before the primer, imo it’s too smooth to get the paint to adhere properly, I would be interested if you used the same paint on a 240 grit sanded test piece if the same happened.

Gonna do a few tests ! Pretty sure 400 was what the paint said !!

I think maybe it didn't atomise enough? So was just sort of chucking it on there

You might be right, it just looks like it went on too thick, or too far away and it’s curing before it’s hitting the print. Either way should be able to fix it.
With the paint can I would try a water bath in warm water to warm the can a bit before shaking to mix it as that will help with the spray. Also lots of light layers work better than one heavy layer.
