Just recently got my new CR 10 Smart Pro. Got a perfect first layer but the print has uneven layer lines? In the photo, you can see the different shades resulting from the layer lines. Any fixes?

Usually it has to do with the hardware of the printer. Any disturbances on the lead screw(s) and you’ll get variation. Loose gantry, too. But printing slower can also help

@molten roost none that I know of? Any way to know which specific things to check?

#

I'm printing at 50 so it's on the slow side

You probably won’t even notice the issue. Just a thorough cleaning and reassembly

which parts should i disassemeble and clean?

#

cuz it's pretty much brand new

Oh it could also be filament variation, while we’re at it. If the diameter isn’t consistent this can happen

#

I would pay particular attention to everything touching the lead screw, tho

Hm this filament on the ender 3 s1 and it came out flawless

#

the leadscrew as in the two z bars that the extruder rides on right?

molten roost
#

Yeah, the greased screws

idk what to go about troubleshooting this

#

every print has come out with these uneven layerlines

Also idk how this is on that particular printer, but if there’s a brass bushing around the lead screw on the gantry, sometimes loosening it can help

#

Actually its not a bushing its threaded lol, mb

lemme send a photo

#

This is on both my z screws

Yeah are those two little screws with locknuts tight?

sand lava
#

Lemme give it a nudge

#

Yeah they seem tight

molten roost
#

Loosen them all half a turn

#

So the fitting can move a little

sand lava
#

Loosen these right?

molten roost
#

Yeah

#

Srry im at work lol

sand lava
#

yeah no worries

#

it still doesn't seem to fix ti
