Hey bud, I'd like to give you some artist to artist advice.
It's okay to ask for follows on social media but don't do it in such a way that makes you seem desperate. That's not a good look for someone who is trying to get noticed. If anything, that has the opposite effect a lot of times. Been there, and went through it.
For next time, put your Instagram handle in the self promo channel and leave it at that. Also, you don't have to @ James every time, especially when he isn't online. That's one of our biggest rules here. Just trying to help so you can be on a path of success.

No worries mate, you're early in your journey so you're learning, and I like to try and be helpful where I can with artist who are just starting out.
The good thing is with this is that James seemed to be okay with it but I would be aware of copyright stuff because it could really mess things up for you.
