bring the clap to the centre and that also needs to be turned up a bit, and the kick is mixed to loud, defintley clipping

# inland crown Hi all, this is my first track I have produced. My friends asked me to remix thi...

yo nice track! if you want your mix to cut thru on other systems i would work on your bass. i'm not sure exactly what the problem is that ur hearing on the speakers, but that would be my guess. when you're working with basses, especially subs and lower mids, often times, u will find that info gets lost on some systems like phone speakers, or lower quality speakers or monitors, etc. an easy fix is some simple saturation to make ur bass pop thru a bit more. u can also layer multiple sounds to fill out frequencies-- also a nice way to add depth to sounds in general. if this was my track, i would definitely add some distortion in those low mids for thickness. i would also consider creating a separate sub layer for more control. u can do this by carving out space on ur main bass with an eq, and simply copying the pattern onto a sub. the reason for doing this is because it gives u full control over your bass cuz u can process them individually.

Does the wee wee wee not get super annoying when producing the track? 😆

I'm not a fan of the bass pattern you're using. I get where you're trying to go at 1:40, but your sidechain needs more work. The bass also feels very high, maybe pitch it down an octave or try some more eq and distortion (distortion first, eq after). Your extra drum elements should be more subtle, everything is very loud and pushed forward.

Your arrangement needs a lot of work. Right now it sounds like each 8 bars is it's own track

#

You go from a drop with only the bass and all the drums, to only a high string and the vocal. Then it's only a lead and the high string. Try to fit everything more together. If I use a sound, most of the time it will be in >50% of my track

Everything is super loud right now. Don't be afraid to have certain elements be barely hearable / only hearable when you focus on it. That's what turns a boring track into a good track. For instance your snare accents, just make them super quiet. No need for those snares to change the groove, which is what they are doing. You want them to add to the groove, not take over the groove. The main groove should be your kick, clap and high hat

#

Here's something quick I made the other day. It's definitely not the greatest, but try to focus on the drums. There's so many extra things going on in the background that add to the drums, without stealing the main groove

#

And if you want to level up your drums: Either use loads of different sounds, or use some loops. On this example I used a few loops and cut small parts out for the extra percussion you hear. Lots of people do it, don't let other peoples opinions on using drum loops stop you from creating better tracks!

Hope this helps. Tag me if you have questions!

In my opinion, you can hear mostly anything, besides bass, which is due to the fact, that you probably use sub bass, which is fine, if you are planning to use it in the club, but if not, I would let the cutoff open to 300hz, because than the bass will be hearable through phone/laptop speakers, and also if you haven’t already try distortion on your bass, it makes it louder for ordinary speakers, but don’t over do it.
