This is the third time I have unlocked a blueprint (specifically the Orbital Exchange Interface ) and as I go to craft it, I have to unlock it on my tech tree again having already spent points to unlock it. why is this happening? am i missing something? no new character, not even logging off and logging back in, this is happening during an active game session and has been happening all week. Another time I unlocked the platinum pickaxe, spent 5 minutes farming and gathering what I needed to craft it from the boxes in my base, and as I go to craft it I realized I had to spend another point to unlock it again. I'm confused.

is your hard drive full? it seems like the game can't write anything to memory to keep your character file from being updated.
there might be an issue with your PC where your game files can't be updated/altered/written

there's honestly so many variables here that it's a bit staggering
like one time I accidentally hit the "screen record" button combination and almost filled up my hard drive with a gameplay recording

Thank you for the advice! I'll take a look at some of those things today. I just got a brand new gaming pc built with top of the line storage, memory, RAM, a 5080 graphics card, etc. so I would sincerely hope it's not my PC. I stream with separate storage to save my recordings in to keep a 1TB of memory open at all times for that reason. I'm thinking you might be right about the steam cloud save though.... i hadn't thought to look into that.
