Hi guys!

Im quite new to icarus and I can see that there is a dedicated server [beta] available.

I have my own server running (EC2 (CentOS)), and was wondering how, if even possible, to host a dedicated server on it. (I can spin up a new EC2 with a different OS if Linux is not yet supported)

As of now, I usually play P2P, having the host run the game on their PC with their steam account.
If I host it on a dedicated server, does that mean I would need to install Icarus and have my account on that instance? (Because I dont really wanna pay for a GPU server lol)

Or can i only use Dedicated Servers on the "Verified server providers"?

Any thoughts and answers are appreciated!!

TIA!

You can install the server on Linux and/or Docker. There's an unofficial support thread for folks who are doing just that. The server also installs and runs anonymously, so you don't need to install the Icarus client on the Linux server.

Just be sure to start at the top of that thread and read through it before trying anything yourself.
