Characters randomly got deleted

my sisters characters got deleted... she was in my prospect doing a mission and her screen randomly went windowed and froze. alt 4 didnt work, she couldnt access the task manager. so she held the power button on her computer to restart it. my prospect is still active btw. she logs back into icarus and her character is just gone. both of her charaters are gone. i should also mention her low level character who was not in a prospect is also gone. the game prompted her to create a new character so she did, and now theres just a level 0 character... her level 46 and 9 charaters are just gone. she still has workshop items though

It shows that shes still in a prospect. But instead of her ingame name it says redacted

All character data is nowadays stored in %localappdata%\Icarus\Saved\PlayerData<SteamID>\Characters.json
That document might have gotten corrupted by the force reboot.
If it isn't there, the game thinks you don't have a character and asks you to create a new one.
This will save a new Characters.json with only the new character in it.

There are several options to (try to) restore the old data:

• Restore from Steam Cloud - this will restore the characters from the last time Icarus was played via Steam and successfully closed
• Re-migrate (button bottom left on the start screen) - this will most likely be way older data

The fact that your prospect still shows her name, is because the prospect file on YOUR local harddrive still has a reference to your sisters old character.
Once she manages to get her old characters back (using one of the methods mentioned above) she should see her characters again, and be able to resume the prospect with you.

The restore steam didn work.
The remigrate button worked and she got both her characters back but on the main character she plays with, went from level 46 to level 37. all the exotics and ren, and work shop items she unlocked and got from missions were gone.
So i edited her json files for her character, put her back to level 46 and then i gave her enough ren and exotics so that she can rebuy the stuff that she previously unlocked and crafted that she lost. So everything is good now. Thank you
