Can't join my friends, neither on mission or open world... i try joining them by pressing join game on steam...

you have to join game in Icarus itself. select a character, then "join prospect".

yes. You'll only see prospects or OWs that are being actively hosted by friends on Steam who selected "Steam Friends Only" during online play.

(and a few other technical limits).
