#Light Sword builds?

I found using it on a blackguard where you get some haste and pick up windstrike spirit was pretty good, super high attack speed that procs extra magic damage, using the shields and regeneration for sustain while using either fire for AoE killing or Ice for more focused single target damage
most attribute points into intelligence, some into wisdom to help with mana issues
Anyone got a build breakout? Went Darkknight for now but switching to level legacy and want to explore some spells / int-wis stacking
how many mobs do you usually take on at once? Im finding myself hard to survive using lightsword over a staff
only 2-3 usually, though I was able to solo the demon summoned boss on the cultist quest line with this build. It's definitely not as safe as kiting with the staff, or going with a more durable build, but you can survive just fine with the two shields, the regen, and the passives that make the regeneration more effective. You also need the card for erupt that has a chance to cause an explosion for AoE damage. That combined with everything else leads to a lot of aoe burst and high single target damage
most of the time though I just focus on going single target, between pyroblast and the super fast attack speed, stuff is usually dead before it has much of a chance to do anything, at least at lower levels, not sure what it would be like at 30+ mobs
were you using this build? https://thetankclub.com/ravendawn-blackguard-build/
why scale off int ? Any weapon can scale off int
did I miss something
the other melee weapons scale off might doesn it
Any weapon scale of might ?
Where do u see that light blade has added damage on auto attack from int ?
search light sword on th disc
I see but then how this work when a skill has % weapon power on it ? It means that if u wear a light blade INT boost this spell ?
@candid condor
as you can see im also asking questions
should be simple to test IG tho
I was experimenting with my own builds, so I was changing somewhat frequently until I found something that worked for me
unfortunately it will not add the weapon damage to spells, but the increase to weapon power will still apply to the basic attacks and weapon based skills. It also unfortunately does not let the intelligence be added for scaling to the weapon based skills, which I think it should.
So basically, it just lets you run an autoattack melee build that uses intelligence and spells that scale with spell power and intelligence
The screenshots show the skills I would probably go for now after the testing I have done, and the cards that I think are most important to grab.
@candid condor
most things will die to the fire spells before you even need to worry about melee attacking, but this build will give decent sustain, powerful auto attacks, and a lot of AoE
I would suggest getting to around 30 points in wisdom, and then putting the rest into intelligence, once you have some extra attribute points, or bonuses from equipment, I would suggest getting some vitality and dexterity, or just items that provide health regeneration and haste. The windom is needed for mana regeneration, if you can get mana regen on items that will give you enough that you do not have issues with your mana, then you could put less points into wisdom
What are the benefits of running warfare in an Int based build?
I think the reason to do it would be gap closers
Been thinking of doing an int light blade build with spirit, holy, and witch
I’m currently running hex warden (wiz/witch/prot) which gives me great damage as well as sustain
I can usually take on 4–5 mobs with this build
Yes I’ve bought a T3 light blade
Currently have an Int/spell power blade
Then running t3 2 leather 2 plate gear with full Int and Precision
Prot works really well with witchcraft
Witchcraft is better than spiritual for me since it can heal me a lot as well dealing insane dmg, synergising well with protection’s passive that increases your defence every time you are healed
gap closer, the ability to pull enemies in, and the passives that work on auto attacks. Almost all the warfare passives scale autoattacks in same way and don't rely on might
once you get a decent amount of haste, the lightblade can attack almost twice per second, and when you're healing upto 25% of the damage passively, it's a lot of free healing
and if you activate the ability that gives you more life leech, it means you're close to 100% of your auto attack damage being healed with every single attack
also, the sunder passive works surprisingly well with wizardry
wizardry has a lot of ways to get guaranteed critical hits
I guess this might be better with frost?
it depends if you have the cards for fire to stack extra crit chance, but yes, it would generally work better with frost at lower levels
Hey deathstrike I just saw a post on Reddit and apparently the light blade damage is bugged
You might want to buy a cheap t3 0 upgrade dagger and see it doing more damage than an upgrade light blade
oh, interesting
I thought its scaling was low, but it felt like it was still scaling
It’s definitely bugged
I didn’t realise since I never checked the other melee weapons
guess that explains it, wonder if it has been bugged the whole time
I assumed it did less damage because it attacks faster
same
Oh well, I heard melee weapons take less damage than ranged weapons so I am still benefiting from it
I’ll just keep using it and hope they fix it asap
do you guys feel any change with the update from today?
nope
it does
Light sword has one of the best skins of the game and it kinda sucks lol
I just cant let my hex warden build with a staff, i would love a good meele build with this weapon
its still broken for weapon power uesrs
What do you mean?
so if i wanted to do an AA build with this its not worth it
So we are saying Goodbye to Melee mages? 😦
it scales with spellpower if you have higher spellpower, but its still not working for lightblade users who want to use might/weaponpower
mostly witch for leveling, i dont have enough points for AOE yet, so i dont use them
when they fix this, it might become one of the best single target builds with that % bonus on AA from spiritual
Weapon power > Spell power right know right?
the % bonus from AA doesn't scale with spellpower i thni
think*
it just does 50% more basic attack dmg
thats why i said when they fix this
might scales for AA right ?
yea
but its a waste to get spiritual on a might build just for the AA
the other skills in spiritual archetype arent really that great for might builds
is it tho ? I think warrior ( forogot the name ) + shadow + spiritual could work well
spiritual would provide a few CC and sustain as well maybe
1H sword do not scale with MIGHT?!
light blade fix now scale with might?
