you would need to use cloudflare's nameservers, they have a guide for that here

just use a railway subdomain

did you use an ip or a cname
railway doesnt have static ips
the ip of your deployment could change, then your domain wont work anymore
so try namecheap?
they usually have first year discounts

then namecheap is what i recommend, get yourself a cheap .xyz domain, and namecheap supports cnames!
