Hi:

I have some project, to which I want to assign a domain already used by another project (not directly mine but I'm in touch with the owner of it). How long does it take to detach a domain for possible reuse? I want to do this with as little (production) platform unavailability time as possible.

Once they remove the domain from the project, and you add it to yours, the biggest holdup is DNS propagation. Really depends on how long it takes your DNS provider
