"New Github project" just opens Github app settings

I have signed in via Github and tried to create a new project using Github. I've clicked on "Configure Github App" and granted it permission to the selected repository of my organization. I got redirected back and now it does show the repository as option. However it's in a faded black color and anytine I click on the repository to select it, it just opens the settings of the app on Github. Even if I install the app for all repositories or all my personal repositories, I always just get to the app configuration page. It does show that I've installed it for my personal and organizational account, but that's it.

Am I doing sth wrong? I'm using the default trial licebse, do I beed to upgrade? I cant find anything in the docs and the UI is not telling me anything.
