I played the demo yesterday, bought the game today, I like the new UI better. It puts the relevant information closer to your sightline.
As always, I wonder if they could just include a toggle. Because I know I could directly load my demo save into the full game. You wouldn't think it'd be a problem.

I've always liked the more rudimentary designs myself
and asymmetric designs has always been more pleasing to me

I don't really have a problem with the new UI, except for the resource tab. When you have a lot of resources, it just ends up kind of too blocky to have in the middle of the screen. Maybe an option to move that window around 🤔

That's why I like it in the corner of the screen
I don't like things being in the center of my view
That's what the game should be doing
Not the UI
I can't really think of a game that has a top center menu that I like
other than Frostpunk
but the weather is super important so you kind of need it in your face
-20 degrees can easily get everyone killed
anyway
a couple of games that I like
the bottom bar UI isn't really a problem for me
