Hey there, I'm back.

I am currently building a weight loss companion app (Android), the primary goal is to see and show progress. It's offline, your data and photos never leave your device. I'd say it's mostly done with features like :

  • Daily photos. Front, side and back. (or weekly, just the front. You do whatever you want I'm not your mom)
  • Importing many pictures at once (many, like myself, have been taking progress pictures for years)
  • Body transformation timelapse generation using these pictures
  • Stabilization : a basic/fast one and a fancy/slow one using computer vision to center the body to make it smooth
  • Seeing old photo gallery and **compairing yourself **(side by side, etc)

I am also considering adding features such as : weight tracking, body measurements, step counter. Anything related to small progress that compound, because that's what helped me during my weightloss journey : trusting the process and showing up.

I am curious what you would like to see and not see in such an app. What are your thoughts on such an app ? Do you take frequent progress pictures yourself ?

I'd love your insight as I don't know too many people actively loosing weight in my entourage, just me.

Is it just image based or will there be specific measurements too?

Currently only photos. But weight is second. I think it's crucial in this case. Body measurements could be an idea

Who is your target audience?

#

And what age range?

People in an active body transformation (weight loss & muscle gain). Also people who already did that and have progress pictures of themselves. It's a tool to make taking progress pictures easier and more frequent, but also a tool to use progress pictures to generate videos or do comparison

#

As for age, I'd say 16 to 40

#

It is my belief that progress pictures are important to see progress and reward yourself with a visual representation of your consistency, and that the logistics of progress pictures is a tad annoying to navigate

I am tying things up and adjusting the experience. I am currently using it myself. I'm trying to make it great for people on all the spectrum from "I want pictures everyday and make a timeline" to "I take a pic every 4 weeks and maybe I'll want to compare someday", and the people who already have many pictures

#

It's my first app. I'm a designer and ex-web developer. So it's quite new !

#

I'd say I've worked on it a bit more than a month

It helps me be more regular on my progress pics 🫡

And it generates cool (STABILIZED !) timelapses at the press of a finger
