Hope it's okay this goes here, it's a request and I didn't want to clutter up banter.
I have a mob grinder out over the ocean as one does. Rather than have the ugly thing visible I did some terraforming and wrapped it in a sky island a la Castle in the Sky. I then though my AFK spot should be the Airship Tiger Moth just so I can nerd out over the movie for real. I started building it as a static thing but then I started running into some considerations and I'm not sure how to continue.
I'm curious what approach people would take out of these fourthree.
Static Build
- Placed at a good AFK point
- Windmills provide turning propellors and some energy for machines
- Can have full working kitchen and bed
- Can have waystone
- [Con] difficult to get to without waystone (so needs to be over clear ground or water with a cycled elevator)
Train build
- Runs on track in a circle at a good AFK distance, visually more interesting
- Can run to and from an embarkation point (solves con from static build)
- Can have routes to multiple farms
- Can use kitchen when train stops (I think)
- [Con] no waystone
- [Con] no rotating propellers without creating an addon
Contraption build (rotating around a fixed point)
- nevermind, now that I think about this it has all of the cons and none of the pros.
Static Build with Flapter trains
- All pros of the static build
- Flapter runs on rails between the flapter hanger on the Tiger Moth and an embarkation point to provide access
- [Con] wings will stick out through hanger sides without a custom addon.
- [Con] Can only use Tiger moth as AFK for one farm.
I'm leaning toward the last one but I also think maybe I'm just wanting too much from what I have to work with.
everything I've heard about Interactive is that it breaks things... should probably give it a try in our modpack but don't think I'd be able to convince the admin to add it with the reputation it has. Would be nice though.
