Sorting items from a belt

Hello everyone, how can I sort items out tu the side, witch are on a belt? I placed brass tunnels and brass funnels with according filters over the belt but it didnt work and the items where spilled out everywhere.

are the funnels pointing in or out?

they are directional

they have arrows on them to show their direction

can spin them with a wrench or shift click to place the other way
