I totally agree that the spilt damage is a good thing but i get a strong feeling that the Magic stat is not getting the same love as Physical damage does. It is the easiest thing in the world to get over 500 Physical stat but close to impossible to get Magical to 250 and thus everything (besides healing) is close to useless (also i'm not talking about the Mage since i have no clue what he even does besides zap, aoe buff and sometimes shield breaking).
As far as i know there is nothing like armour just damage reduction as in x% gets ignored or complete immunity. So it is all damage, damage reduction and health.
I personally didn't feel like we ever needed to CC any enemy (but that is with a good tank). On that topic the Equipment that gives damage on break feels like the worst stat you can get (not talking about heals on break).
