Okay.
In that vein, I'll start the ball rolling.
This book does a lovely job at showing the perpetual multi-faceted nature of things happening in real time. The small sections in each chapter read like a discovery of threads which pull together to weave the tapestry of the story. The undercurrent if 'librarians in intelligence' is always present, but with many examples.
The through story is useful, too, of Curtis.

I'm findinv myself highlighting all the tidbits of tradecraft, however. That has become eyeopening. Scattered tradecraft in a historical story of the beginnings of security agencies.

Yes. Novel like. Slowly growing a story through experiences. Almost like the main character is the organisation itself as it grows.
