I've been doing the ||exif ever since I missed using it in the first week and did the long route, now this, lessons learnt. I had narrowed it down to Chicago White Sox because of the b&w jersey color but brute forcing batsmen names wasn't ideal, 4k to the rescue||

Now the real question is... what was his seat number?

Yep you're right, so ||section 134, row 28, seat 3 or 4|| new challenge 🙌🏾

How do you actually ||zoom in a youtube video? The 4k hint is neat but I can't actually see anythiing on this Jersey.||

just a preference for that sort of thing to make sure I'm working with the best I can get

Okay, here we go: ||Quickly googled the names on the Jersey in Front which are Toronto Blue Jays players. Check their Stadium and, yup it's a home game, confirmed by the logo on the pitch itself. Went through gallerys of MLB Uniforms to figure out the other team, landing on the Chicago White Sox. They only had three games against the Blue Jays this season, so I go for those. ||
||The Jersey for the pitcher reads something like 24 (or rather is most likely to read, the other pitchers numbers for those game look too different from what I can decipher), while the batter is 3-something. The former narrows it to the game on the third day (I have no idea about baseball), where he only had three pitches. Only two of these have fouls, Fletcher (No. 7) and DeLoach (No. 31), and there we go.||

So, to make it more precise, we see the ||May 22, 2024|| game between the ||Toronto Blue Jays|| and the ||Chicago White Sox|| ||top of the 9th|| Inning, ||Blue Jays|| batting, ||3rd|| batter, ||1st|| pitch.

This rests on the assumption this video is from the ||most recent season||, so I search the stadium for clues of that, eventually coming across ||the scoreboard with the batters name||
Goddamnit.

Also going of that scoreboard, I might be entirely wrong, because if I my assumption is correct, ||the first number there should be 4, as it is his 4th at base, not his 3rd?|| But again, my understanding of baseball is rather limited, so I might be reading something wrong, because ||DeLoach has only been with the White Sox this season||? Can someone who knows Baseball explain this?

The purpose of this challenge was ||to learn the most that you can about baseball, and that's the answer that maximizes baseball learning. So, welld done||

I didn't think to use exif (new to image/video stuff and it's my first challenge season) nor did i zoom in and I have a small screen so none of those details y'all saw made it into my search. I used the visible ||stadium name|| and was able to figure out the home team ||uniforms,|| and searched for teams ||that wore the other uniforms.|| i know from a former baseball nerd coworker that baseball fans are huge into stats and records so i knew i'd find a site like ||baseball savant|| to search for who was playing what when. i left it at the current year and entered in the stadium, the two teams ||based on the uniforms,|| that it was ||a foul ball, || that i was looking for ||the batter|| and it was still a lot of names. i then noticed that ||the batter was a leftie|| and that took me down to ||five names and one was a winner|| i bet if i was better at baseball i could have used the data in the video and in the site to ||figure out where the ball went to narrow down the names based on the little diagrams for the fouls they have? (at least i think that's what those were trying to show) that site has w/o guessing them all one by one|| but i hit my baseball limit for my life today

did have a false start looking for ||foul balls that hit people|| and that apparently happens pretty often to some crazy results

I am afraid I did not maximize my baseball knowledge, I just ||figured out that the uniforms meant the person at bat was NOT from the blue jays||, then squinted hard at ||the display behind the batter, figured it was a 31 at the start, and used this extremely useful resource to find names that looked about right https://aws.baseball-reference.com/friv/numbers.cgi?number=31&year=2024||

Stadium and home team were quite easy to find using the names of (famous?) players that are visible on the walls in the background.
The interior of the stadium also matched pictures from ||2024 (there was a renovation before) so I knew that it was the 2024 season. || Finding the game with the right jersey color combination of home and guest teams was a bit harder, but googling “<year> <home team name> games by jersey color” lead to a helpful website.
