I was able to find this book on Amazon as well. Too niche for my library to have at this point, unfortunately
I think we just found a new book club member. π

When I was in the basement of Izolyatsia and literally composed the texts in my mind, I could not even think that one day they would become a book that the Nobel laureate would present to the Pope.
Thank you, dear @avalaina, for another act of cultural diplomacy. https://t.co/4ALkCGzDrR

He quite would need to read that book I think
This is a website about the Izolyatsia plant, how it was being revitalised before it was taken over and turned into a prison.

I started reading the book on the commute and it's for better or worse not disappointing, it's heading into being the most harrowing book I've read and that's not a low bar with some of the ones we had here
Once again, it is an amazing book handdown. When I started reading it I remembered that I had read Stanislasv's 1st book "In Isolation: Dispatches from Occupied Donbas" in 2022. And I do recommend it to read ''In Isolation'' as well if you enjoyed "Torture camp".
Will skip tonight's book club, sorry π¦
Dang it
And that despite today is a great timing for such a talk: https://vxtwitter.com/AseyevStanislav/status/1799764148731163118
@tribal pike thank you for facilitating a good talk. β€οΈ
very kind of you to say so, thanks! I often feel like I'm just guessing about what other people thought was interesting
She's good at this. Woe the weeks she's unable to attend...
me in book club
I can only imagine...π¬
was this a two-parter and y'all have only done the first meeting or did i miss out? π€π½
Yes, exactly that, we have a second meeting on the 23rd.
ah, great. i'm about halfway through and, though it's so difficult, it feels like such an important account
Yes, very much so.
I've noticed there is no event for the second half of this reading, is it happening tonight, next week, not at all...?
Now it's up and running, thanks
Although I would suggest to postpone it to next week? Since it's a 3 week gap between this book's and next one's discussion
And I confess I'm only halfway through this one, trying to catch up a bit this afternoon π
Lemme check with the others. Let's face it, I'm not the one carrying this.
π
Hey all! I'm sorry about the mistake. We've taken @tame halo 's suggestion and will have book club next Sunday. Here is the event to put on your calendars!
Thank you Sarah!
We do expect you to give a precise summary of the second half now. π
Logically erredece knows there is a book club meeting every two weeks. He could have asked much earlier why there wasn't a second one visible this month. He could also have used this time to think.
Also, the next book is much longer than this one, therefore it stands to reason to use the three-week gap thanks to most months being longer than four weeks for that one instead.
Of course this is in no way directed at you, just erredece.. π
I had some filet amΓ©ricain for lunch. π
On spelt&buckwheat bread.
You're hiding something, unless there was something in that buckwheat and the tea respectively
This book continues to amaze me. https://vxtwitter.com/aseyevstanislav/status/1806802306660237611

Finally installed gopro, so there should be more video content from the front. https://t.co/Jc8gfWMqBj

On the topic of the damage from the torture: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32657766/
The full paper is available from open sources, but I'm not linking it - it has some NSFW pictures

Aseyev was injured today https://fixvx.com/AseyevStanislav/status/1808073348791824867
Knock knock knocking on heaven's door...
A miracle happened to me again. This piece of shrapnel entered my neck, missed the artery, and got stuck in soft tissue. And a fragment that got into my chest did not penetrate the lung. Another one was pulled out of my ear.
So I'm fine:) https://t.co/6wpGURlpfz
