Sometimes we make progress on a geolocation but ultimately decide to table it for the time being. This is a place where we can collect that research (ideally in a single link) to stick in the CIR sheet for someone to pick up down the line.

UPDATE: Complete. 48.840903, 37.583597.

GM-122, pt. 1 (hit character limit). Slovyansk, Donetsk Obl.

Attached: additional photos of the scene, number on door from report.

report on the scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsjfgMKCpN0

translation of the report (thanks @toxic dragon):

Reporter: Only twenty minutes ago Russian troops fired on one of Slovyansk's industrial sites. From the words of those who were here, this site has not been operational for a long time, but we know there were guards on site and currently no casualties have been reported. Right now soldiers, national police and rescuers are at work.
Man: absolutely no one here
Reporter: have you spoken to the guards? Everyone is allright?
Man: yes ... [can't make out exactly here]

mayor's facebook post referencing the attack (he calls it a "garage cooperative"—гаражный кооператив): https://www.facebook.com/Vadymlyakh/posts/443744841094509

russian propaganda calls the site the "Fermmash plant" (завод «Ферммаш»): https://vg-news.ru/n/159626

article @dim briar found about Fermmash plant opening: https://karachun.com.ua/ru/sloviansk/4794-izvestniy-v-slavyanske-biznesmen-otkroet-novoe-proizvodstvo

Recently, his company bought the premises of the former Fermmash plant, which is located between the former Keramkombinat and the residential area adjacent to Betonmash PJSC. After purchasing the premises of a former factory with an area of 18,000 square meters, the windows were replaced, the roof was re-roofed and insulated.

GM-122, pt. 2.

Attached: shademapper, background detail, possible orientation.

description of shadows, detail of "notch" i reference below, background detail, and overhead orientation:

i believe the report is taken in the morning because the reporter says they got there w/in 20 minutes of the attack, and the mayor said it was in the morning.

the shademapper screenshots are of different times in the morning. basically all through the morning, up until just before noon, the shadows point northwest-ish. based on the way that loose corrugated panel under the window casts its shadow, i think that the side in the sunshine in the pictures is facing some amount of southeast—could be more south, could be more east.

i think there are two corners in the footage. in the video, where the reporter is talking, you can see that the first window is a small one, then there are a couple of larger ones that look like the ones in the side of the building facing the sun. also there's a structure across the street with a fence.

i think the orientation of corner two and the side facing the sin might look something like the last image. based on the "notch" in the previous post, the shot of the building from down the road, and the shadows, i THINK this might be how it's oriented. obviously i have no idea how wide or far back anything goes—the greenery might be very deep, the building might go back some way, the lower part to to the left-hand side of the building where the notch is might be really wide or long, etc.

or don't have anything yet

# dim briar or don't have anything yet

i don't think so, but @sinful yew might have some possible candidates. it's marked as "cold case" in the CIR sheet, but we were able to find a lot more footage/imagery of the location.

#

let me know if any of my comments are unclear anywhere—i synthesized a bunch of rants i'd made to Willy in DMs so it's possible some might lack needed context 😅

dim briar
#

but this seems a quite huge complex, should alone this corner not give a good idea?

#

that's the building you look for @weak badge

#

48.834186, 37.583022

#

bit confused with which building it is supposedly but think the one i shared the geo from.

#

this one most likely it's completely demolished since 06-2022, and it was the size shared in the interview i just shared (+/- 18000m2

yeah my latter guess was across the street

#

didn't find exactly what i looked for either, but it should be one of these

for sure, thanks Timothy.

Uploading doesn't work for now, see server news

dim briar
#

ok lets fix this one

#

it annoys me

#

which is located between the former Ceramic Plant and the residential area adjacent to Betonmash PJSC.

#

48.824373, 37.605118 looks to match on the roofing but can't figure out the background unless it's shot in mirror

dim briar
#

well the reason why i say this, because the article describes that the building had gotten new roofing

#

the smaller building south of it seems to matcch the photo's of the burning building more

#

09/2021 footage shows it has such a concrete "front" that's is higher

@dim briar maybe we discuss in #ukraine-geolocation and keep this for collecting information about any incomplete geolocations? i can edit the original messages or we can just post findings. that way the info isn't so hard to find. what do you think?

Sooo… Here’s one that I have embarrassingly been sitting on for way too many months. Some of you will recognize it.

This thread is a holdover from back when we could still make them. https://discord.com/channels/709752884257882135/1073165046810681424 Let's take advantage of that and pick up the work there.

The incident encompasses damage to numerous locations across the western half of the city of Pokrovsk on 3 November 2022. The damage was widespread, and may have been the result of a multiple rocket launcher attack.

#

I posted some updates (#1073165046810681424 message) that summarize where things stand so far in the thread that I linked to above.
