Is anyone able to geolocate these pictures which are from the 1970s-1980s Australia? Unfortunately they're not the best quality but likely taken in Queensland, Australia. Queensland does not have too many mountains ranges (or hills) with towns nearby so it should narrow it down. I tried using Peakvisor and also looked at different peaks in Queensland (they have a lot of distinctive shaped peaks as part of the 'Glasshouse Mountains' which are unusual shapes so can be ruled out). As mentioned, the photos are not fantastic but there are some clues there.

The suburb of Edmonton in Carins looks promising, looking west towards Lamb Range. Some new builds in the area so would also help to look at what was there in the 70s/80s

No coordinates yet, just the general suburb (based on a number of factors) that I suspect it is in. Need to also look at the historic imagery to see what was there as well, I think https://www.data.qld.gov.au/dataset/historical-orthophoto-map-seriesqueensland //https://qimagery.information.qld.gov.au/

Gotcha! That's around here: -17.018261002798436, 145.72638029203532

FWIW historical sat imagery from 1985 shows that housing developments were limited to around this area: -17.0244281362557, 145.7394857842322

It's hard to tell from the pics but the fact that the yard is fenced off and that there's a building on the other side of the fence probably means that they had neighbours, so if this is the neighbourhood they might have been around this area

I'm working on trying to match perspectives from houses with pools in that area

Got these three so far:

House 1: 17° 1'43.84"S, 145°44'16.87"E

I still haven't been able to confirm these. And looking at historic maps and revisiting other areas of Cairns makes me think that it could also be possibly be in this approx area around Woree (also looking at Lamb Range) -16.958033, 145.736063
