well, the thing is we just want it always disabled, so there's not really a valid option to expose, it's more like an internal detail. the annoying thing is that some models default it to enabled, so we try to disable those, but these other models don't even want the param set, and we have no way (afaict) to know - besides I guess maintaining a list of models which do/don't support it

can re-investigate, but it was breaking something a while back so I disabled it
