well, start by moving to the sub-arctics 🙂 right now the market is shaky but otherwise it's near impossible to stay unemployed here, there's always a shortage of people. for working underground you more or less only need a job located underground, and the 'blue collar' jobs are well paid and have generous terms (when working shifts you typically have 2 of 5 weeks off out, 5 weeks of paid vacation every year and so forth).
