Hey @solid vessel !

Yes! Dagger can be definitely be used in prod. In fact, we have some users in this community that are currently using it in prod.

re waiting for a 1.0 release and breaking changes, the SDK's are generally stable and we try not to make backwards incompatible changes as much as we can. Since the project is still moving relatively fast as we're implementing features as users request them, we also take special consideration in our deprecation policy so users have enough time to migrate in case breaking changes are introduced. Even though we have been speaking internally about a 1.0 release, it'll be mostly symbolic since there are currently no major redesigns and/or proposals that are blocking that.

You can go ahead and run it in production with confidence and if you have any further quesitons or issues we're always here to help 🙌

A comment in case you plan on running your own Dagger engines in production: from an operational perspective keeping Dagger up to date at the moment does require a bit more work than most other components. We are working hard on stabilizing things and making the experience better so our release cadence this past few weeks has been quite high, with almost one release per week. This cadence will likely slow down as we move toward the next minor release so in a few weeks the story might be different.
Upgrading SDKs and engines needs to be coordinated. That said, we kept our internal pipelines and applications up to date this past few weeks and did not have major issues worth reporting
