It could be that --progress=plain will be better output format for you for now as well.

Yeah there are 2 distinct topics here:

Making errors more readable. This is something @fresh lance, @delicate arrow and @cloud prism are watching closely. I was going to link to an umbrella issue, but can't find it at the moment.
Reporting test and lint results separately from dagger errors, to make them more readable. You can see an example (WIP) in our own CI: https://github.com/dagger/dagger/pull/7587
